Greek Kulture had its first big show at the Kappa Alpha Psi Centennial in Indianapolis, Indiana. Wow. I had never experienced anything to this magnitude. The sheer volume of people was a lot to contend with. I had never been to Indiana before and unfortunately I did not get to see much of the state. Well, we did see the Convention Center (where all the vendors were located), and we saw the outside of the baseball stadium, and the outside of the football stadium (where the Colts play). Obviously, I know nothing about baseball because I cannot even tell you what the team is. We also got to eat a several good restaurants in the immediate area of the Convention Center and hotel we stayed at.
But the big highlight was the success Greek Kulture experienced at our first show. We received a lot of love from the brothers of Kappa Alpha Psi, Incorporated. One of our tees, designed by co-owner Eddie, was repeatedly voted "The Hottest Shirt at the Centennial" by visitors to our booth. That was definitely a surprise. And we definitely were understocked on this hot item. We sold out day 2 of the 6 day event. Like I said, unexpected. We also sold out of our Signature Polo and some other items.
We also received interest in our hand-carved wood work from Ghana. Greek Kulture partners with the non-profit organization Sankofa International, Inc. to help bring employment to some of the carvers in Ghana. Each drum or shield is hand-carved and can add a beautiful addition to any home or office. And for those that love their Krimson and Cream, you do not have to worry about your spouse thinking it clashes with their decor. These beautiful wood pieces can fit into any decorative scheme.
So from Greek Kulture, we want to say thanks to the wonderful bruhs of Kappa Alpha Psi. Thanks for the love.
